My Trip to the U.S. of A
Greetings fellow Americans. I have returned to Madagascar after a vacation to America. My trip was from December 27th to January 7th, so about two weeks. So I missed my connection in the Charles de Gaulle airport in Paris because by the time I got to the terminal the plane had left, why is the airport so big and why do you have to take a shuttle bus to the next terminal? I don’t know. But I spoke to the United Airways ticket counter and they got me on a flight for the next day. The 28th. That night consisted of me reading a book, sleeping in a variety of chairs and having to buy pants because I travelled in shorts. Paris, much to my dismay, was cold and had snow on the ground. I had to buy some pants and then I made a home for myself on the plastic modern-looking lounge chair. I finally get to Tampa and they have no knowledge of where my bags are. They were not scanned in Paris, nor D.C., nor Tampa. I get off the plane wearing a flannel shirt and a green bandanna. All my mother does is stare at me and cry. To her, I didn’t look myself, well with the bandanna on, a flannel, long hair and the fact that I have lost some weight, I don’t look like I used to…
Austen and Sara’s wedding was beautiful. I walked her mother down the aisle, had a great time seeing everyone and ate some great food. My luggages which had their wedding gifts inside had not yet returned and they did not return until after they left on their honeymoon. I was really bummed and to be honest pissed because I wanted to give them the gifts because each had its own little story I wanted to tell them. The gifts are at my house and they just have to make the trip from Tampa to Ocala to get them…my mother will cook some delicious food…right JGarv! I’m very fortunate and glad that I got to be in The Fitzpatrick wedding. I wish you two the best of luck. I miss you all already and as my mom said ‘The countdown begins – 20 months will just fly by.’ Thanks Mom!
